Tundra is an arctic merhorse, he represents everything that is
watery and cold, a hail storm, falling snow or a simple frost. This
type of merhorse is known to live in frigid and/or frozen waters
around the globe.
Tundra is a One of a Kind sculpture/artdoll created entirely by
hand without the use of molds, he is an original piece, therefore
unique and impossible to reproduce.
He has been modelled from Polymer Clay on a wire armature. His
eyes are hand sculpted and painted (He has one brown eye and one
blue eye!). His body is painted with a series of acrylic paint color
washes to add depth and realism. He is about 7 inches tall and 8
inches long in his current position, the base is 8 1/2 inches in
diameter and it's covered with a delicate mosaic work featuring
natural sea glass in an icy frosted color and tiny pearlized
nautilus like seashells. Tundra can be removed from the base, base
and horse are 2 separate pieces. To avoid scratching any furniture,
felt the same color of Tundra's mane has been applied on the bottom
of the base.
Tundra's mane is silvery salt and pepper mohair applied lock by
lock, his tailfin, fins and scales are translucent polymer clay,
each scale on his back has been formed one at a time.
