Abyssal hippocampi find themselves at home in the dark depths of the ocean, where they can better show off their tails that glow with luminescent colors.
They feed mostly on kelp but have an insatiable appetite for pearls, if you have any pearl jewelry be advised not to leave it anywhere near him! keeping this in consideration, I have included a little oyster shell with "pearl" treats so he will feel at home right away, they can't resist them!
Aquas is 10 inches wide from the tip of his hoof to the tip of his tail, and 7 inches tall (in his current position).
The whole piece including the base setting is aproximately 11.5 inches tall and 10 inches wide, he'll be sure not to go unnoticed!
He has been sculpted with polymer clay, completly by hand and without the use of any molds, he's a true Original One of a Kind that will never be duplicated.
His body has been painted with soft pastels and professional quality acrylics, then sealed with 6 coats of UV resistant matte sealer. His eyes and hooves are glossed for realism.
Aquas's mane is mohair in 4 different colors, light silver, salt and pepper gray, ash blonde and dark gray, this combination of colors looks striking against his dark dapple grey body.
His tail has individually sculpted scales, they are blue/green and super iridescent. The fins speak for themselves! clear, opalescent with a strong fire and glow and tiny blue/violet sparkles. They are completly poseable and flexible, they are also made out of polymer clay.
The base is stained in a dark rich ebony brown and decorated with real, super fine white sand (sterilized, so no strange things will grown on it), real sea shells, shell shards, a green 'marine plant' and a big piece of genuine coral! the coral and marine plant are not permanently attached to the base and can be removed.
Aquas can be lifted off of the clear acrylic rod (rod is permanently attached to the base).
He would make the perfect companion for mermaids, selkies, tritons, Poseidon (Neptune) or any other merfolk or mercreatures. His size would match in scale any merfolk from 5 to 8 inches tall.
